NFS Undercover on 64bit XP AMD64 and nVIDIA GeForce

NFSU System Requirements:

NFS Undercover is the Latest Version of the NFS games. As given in the system requirements, it needs a processor of speed better than 3.0GHz, RAM more than 512 MB, and a Graphic Card.

NFSU Performance on AMD64

The game NFS Undercover is working just normal on

AMD64 Athlon 3000+ 1.8GHz,
Asus M2N MX,
1 GB DDR2 RAM,
nVIDIA GeForce 8500GT 1GB 64bit Drivers
Win XP 64bit,
and DirectX 9.0c,
SATA HDD.

when the settings of the game are set to all low and some configuration variables to off, Resolution 800x600. Also all the other processes running on the OS are stopped. On overall review, the NFS Undercover performance can be stated as running slower on the configuration shown above. NFS Undercover definitely needs better requirements than NFS Pro Street. NFS Undercover is taking around 512MB of memory usage as shown in the Task Manager of WinXP.

The Game Performance can improved to a greater extent when the processor or the RAM or both are upgraded.

NFSU View

NFS Undercover is showing some similarities with the game NFS Most Wanted. This is when the Police cars chasing and in some other cases. The story as such is not clear in the starting. Differentiating the older versions, the types of races are new. It includes Dominating the race cars by getting the lead upto 1000ft etc.

NFSU vs NFSMW vs NFSPS

The new kind of races added may show some better interest. Coming to Graphics, The Graphics appear inferior to that of NFS MW at lower resolutions and low detail settings, like the shadow effects, car detail variables, world detail, world effects etc. The appearance of car too is very similar to that in the case of NFS Pro Street. The environment view or the world view is better in the case of NFS Pro Street out of these three. The game goes on as the racer roams in a city and engages races of different kind. GPS Navigation is available. Damage indicator is added in the right bottom at the location where Nitrous Oxide used to be shown in the other versions. The Time Slowdown also is available. Nitrous Oxide when used may not show any flames coming out. After all what matters is the game play. So, let us see, how well the game goes on.
