How to start
Call of Duty dedicated server can be started from the game itself. In the multiplayer menu you need to start the server by clicking in new server and change the parameters to required and change the mode to dedicated and then LAN or internet. Firstly, the players need to have the keycode for the multipayer game to join and play.

Rcon
Rcon means remote controls. The console can be controlled from other players consoles just buy giving the rcon password.
Apart from these console commands, there are number of dvars which will configure the game. The number of dvars is more than a 1000. These dvars can be seen in the console by pressing the starting letter and then expanding the console by pressing Shift+` keys. The dvars can be listed by pressing Shift+Tab keys.
Mods for COD4 Modern Warfare
Also selection of the mod is also given in the user interface in the multiplayer mode and not available in single player mode. You can have PAM4 mod for Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. You can download the Mod from "downloads.noobwars" and you can install it as indicated in previous posts of this blog.
Also you can get the console in the single player mode by enabling the console in the options of single player menu.
