How to Reduce Lag in CS1.6 while playing in the Internet or LAN

The lag will be caused because of the burden on the processor. If you have a very low capacity processor and you want to play CS in that, you may follow these. The case described here is without any Graphic Card. The burden can be reduced by the following not completely but partially

1. Reducing the framerate. Type the command in the console "fps_max 50". This will reduce the frame rate to 50 which will be 100 by default. You can feel a little bit difference with this.
2. If you are using the game in 32 bit, change it to 16 bit in video options. This will make a bigger difference than the above. But you are said to be 16 bitting by using 16 bit video output as the smoke grenade will show up differently in this mode.
3. Use 640x480, the standard value id 800x600 but you can play at 640x480 to reduce the load on the processor.

These settings will help you reduce the lag at least by 20% of the normal settings.
