There are crash reports for almost all the games released. There are some cases where the game is said to be crashing while switching between windows. The game needs to pause while switching between windows. So, the crash may be caused because of the problem in stopping the game in the situation and saving the state. It is better to grant it admin privileges in the operating systems like windows vista or any other with out write permissions for the normal files.
One kind problem for crashing comes with the compatibility issues of game and the operating system. The game may be well programmed but because of older versions of the graphic drivers or the operating system libraries the game may result in crashing. This generally happens when making use of the library, .dll files. So it is better to upgrade all the .dll files which ever the game uses.
The other kind of problems exist where the game crashes while loading in the beginning itself. This kind of crash generally happens when there is a problem with the files loading. Like the introduction videos, or some other .dll files which may be corrupt from the beginning. In this case the solution would be to replace those files with different version ones or to re-install which may work.
