What Happened to the RelianceWorld GameBox 2009 National Gaming Championship

Reliance World has conducted a National Championship for Gaming in games like Counter-Strike 1.6, Age of Mythology, Half-Life 2-Deathmatch, Need for Speed: Underground and Warcraft III–Frozen Throne. It has been conducted for two years on 2007 and 2008 but this time in 2009 it is not visible in the web.

The reason can just be lack of competition and participation in the events. There are lot of hardcore gamers in India. But when coming to the participation it the other way. The prize money for the gaming events in 2007 was higher than that in 2008. The prize money for the Counter Strike 1.6 Event in 2007 was Rs. 2,00,000/- and that in 2008 was Rs. 1,40,000/-. This shows the difference in the response of the participants and spectators.
