Looks like cricket games don't create a big buzz online. But the games surely have great number of followers in countries where cricket is a daily topic. There are gamers who play non stop 50 over matches. Its true.
Firstly, the website is here at PlayAshes. Secondly, the game has been released for PS3, XBOX, and Win platforms. Thirdly, it also available for Wii. Finally it has mutliplayer support.
When we say multiplayer does it mean that it is like EA's Cricket where users can play multiplayer with a joystick. Here in this case, its not just like that. The game Ashes Cricket 2009 features full online multiplayer as well as support for local multiplayer games, as said on Codemasters website. This would be a good option and unique feature that will enable players to play multiplayer. The EA's version used to allow players to play only with joystick. This means you are not going to play with some one who is not around you. I used to wonder how people are passing time with that game for more than 2 hours taking 50 over matches. Now, you could just play anywhere anytime just online. LAN is an additional option where you can play privately. So, 50 over match does not look disturbing. Its more like real cricket now. There would be gamers playing Test matches too. But the real craze will be for 20-20 matches.
The question is how many players can be allowed to play at an instant of the game, either in multiplayer or single player. Obviously, it would be just batting and bowling because, no one want to field for so long in the game.
The next post in this blog would be giving you information about the game demo and download.
